At the beginning of the activity (1990-2005), the family company, in business since October 1990, focused on designing and installation of technologically advanced facades.
Meanwhile, the process of modern marketing, unknown on the national market facade materials produced by well-known German companies leading in curtain wall systems whom we were a main distributor of:
- composite materials as Alucobond, Dibond, Alucore
- Ceramic facades (cladding); Keraion, Kera-Twin.
During the 15 years long activity in the construction industry our company had taken part in projects of over 100 well-known buildings throughout the country such as banks (PKO SA in Koszalin and Ostrołęka, Bank Handlowy in Olsztyn),hotels (Sheraton and Hyatt in Warsaw), office buildings, high-class apartment buildings etc.
The new stage of Almides activity began in 2005. Since then we are an exclusive distributor in Poland and other countries, responsible for marketing of nickel-cadium batteries, produced by ZAVOD AIT from Saratov (Russian Federation).
Since November 2011, we are an exclusive distributor in Poland of alkaline batteries, and lead acid batteries, made in India by HBL company from Hyderabad.
Now, we can offer almost all types of alkaline batteries. Moreover we produce many fittings as battery boxes, jumper cables, connecting cables.
The warehouses and batteries service of total area 2500 m2 are located in the centre of Poland, near A1 motorway, on a plot of more than 2,5ha.
After privatisation and modernisation ZAVOD AIT from Saratov (Russian Federation), became a modern manufacturer of alkaline batteries gaining 75% of enormous Russian market.
„ZAVOD AIT” is a holder of quality certificate acc. ISO 9001:2000 issued by the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. Due to this “ZAVOD AIT” is a leader in supplying alkaline, nickel–cadmium batteries used in locomotives, railways and underground cars, trams and trolleybuses and also as an emergency power source in fixed installations.
In 2008 “ZAVOD AIT” engineers developed a new type of maintenance-free nickel-cadium batteries used in passenger trains and in the latest class cars.
Batteries mentioned above are complied with IEC 62259-2007 standards and conform the requirements of PN-EN 60623 standard.
Thanks to high-level specialists, batteries are adaptable to extremely low and high temperatures.
Examples of this are: Siberia or tropical countries from Asia and Africa, Middle East or North Africa countries.
Due to reliability, modernity and competitive prices, they have gained wide recognition of the users from Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Greece to name a few.

Renewable energy and energy storage
The first in Poland, solar farm with an industrial energy storing facilities in Nowa Wieś near Włocławek was put into operation in the beginning of 2020. The first stage of the project has already been completed.
It is a 0,25 MW solar power plant and 0,34 MWh energy storage which is composed of 1800 Ni-Cd alkaline batteries, which the company has been co-producing and distributing for over 15 years as a leading distributor in Poland. The cost of the first stage of the project is over 2,5 million PLN, of which approx. 1,8 million is a loan granted by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Toruń. Works are currently underway on the next stage of the project to increase energy power up to 1 MW and the storing capacity up to 1,0 MWh. It should be finished in 2021.
